Hargrave Military Academy is searching for a dynamic and inspired Director of Admissions to serve as the primary manager for the admissions team and as a key member of the Hargrave staff. The Director of Admissions reports directly to the President and assists in developing, implementing and evaluating the annual strategic recruitment and enrollment plan in order to meet the school’s enrollment goals. He or she is responsible for strengthening and managing school relationships through leading off-campus recruitment events such as visits to feeder schools, fair attendance, receptions and meetings with educational consultants. Ultimately, the Director of Admissions helps enroll students with the best potential to succeed.
Director of Admissions will participate in prospect development and will manage the application process. He or she will provide outstanding customer service to prospective and current school families in person, through written communication, and through Skype or telephone conversations. Serving as the primary manager for the admissions team, the Director will provide the President with a weekly funnel report and report on admission activity; participate with the leadership team in strategic planning for domestic and international recruitment; manage the recruitment and training for alumnae, parent, and staff participating in educational fairs or school visits; and work with other departments to develop innovative on-campus programming that will engage prospective families and support enrollment. Hargrave takes a “whole of school’ approach to admissions. Additionally, he or she will oversee the admission process that includes efficient handling of applications and documents, communications with students and their parents; scheduling interviews; requesting necessary student credentials; providing financial aid and scholarship assessments; and maintaining admission records.
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree along with collegiate or K-12 level admission experience. They should also have strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects and meet deadlines, proficiency using technology applications, and database management experience.
